I haven’t gone away; I just started taking classes again. (Getting a certificate of advanced study in archives. 3.5 classes to go, and I can have my weekends back.) Good thing I’ve got this place on auto-updating WordPress now.
Adelaide is like 99% done with draft 2; I just need other people’s eyes to look at it now before I do anything further with it. Since that’s mostly out of my head, I’m currently working on finishing #208 (Leni). I’m aiming to make it my Camp NaNoWriMo project for April.
I updated the story list with new entries, though I still haven’t finished all the abstracts.
In related news, I set up a Patreon in case I ever need to use it as more than a tip jar. I’m not 100% sure how I’ll use it yet, but I’m at least planning to post some scenes from in-progress stuff there. And as the updated story list probably makes clear, I have a lot of in-progress stuff.
I’m working on revising Adelaide (#195); I split it up at some point, and the first part needs more exposition to really make it stand on its own.
I’m not terribly familiar with revising as a process; I’ve re-written the first book a couple times now (once in the typing, once again, and then again), but not all the way through the second and third times. And I’ve got at least three versions of Xyryx going. But I haven’t gone over most of the rest of them again, not like this.
Hopefully it comes out stronger on the other side.
I’m not sure where they came from.
I still prefer Blogger’s posting interface, but WordPress is a helluva lot easier to update than it used to be.
Okay, I got the poetry in; to make up for all the crappy high school stuff included in that, I also added the first chapter of Adelaide on the fiction page.
I’ve got all the D&D and music stuff transferred over, and I started on the drawing. The poetry needs to be converted to PDF to link it all neatly.
I need to finish my reappointment binder for work tomorrow, so I’m not sure how much I’ll get moved tomorrow.
I have 7 years of news archives that I’m going to pull into the database… by copying/pasting/post-publishing them since they were all done manually, via HTML, over the years.
(If I pull all the content over from my other site, the archives will extend back to when I started on the web, but… I’ll probably just stick to the content that was here already.)
I reinstalled WordPress (as is probably obvious). I’ll get the content pushed around where it needs to go soon.
Working on another site redesign; hoping I can pull in the posts from the blog to appear on the main page, but we’ll see how that turns out.
So, I’ve had this website how long? And it’s just now occurred to me to post the fiction in PDFs? Yeah. Updated the works list, too.
PS: I probably broke a lot of links. If something in the archives or whatnot doesn’t work, just work off the fiction link in the menu.
